About the map:

Half-Life2 Deathmatch map (2005)

This was my second map for Source, but my first completed map. I spent a little over three months figuring out how to use the basic concepts in Valve's Hammer level editor. Needless to say, it helped jumpstart my passion for level design.

In this map are a few noteworthing mechanisms. This map is one of the few maps out there that has a working three-level elevator that functions like a real world elevator with advanced 'memory' features. It will store up to two floors called by players pressing the outside buttons plus two more 'memory' button calls on the inside. (e.g. when elevator is on second floor, people pressing third inside will go there first before reaching people on the first floor calling the elevator. while those who might have just missed it on the second can call the elevator, and it will pick them up on the way back down to the first floor.) sounds complicated eh? Well, try downloading it and seeing for yourself! It can be found in the 'Hotel' building.

Special attention was given to the placement of weapons and pathways as this Half-Life 2 'City 17' setting provided an easy gateway for implementing familiar gameplay designs and mechanics.

Overall, this map was one of my first and it has its glitches, but it helped jumpstart my passion for game design and for that, I can never forget it!
